Hey everyone, Vain/David reporting in. I think this is my first real official site update post, but I figured with all the changes going on around the website that I should make a more public statement. Firstly, I want to thank everyone that has stuck by us so far through all the madness and changes this site has gone through. Between the site getting hacked, tons of ‘lost episodes’, constant rotation of editors, and random lulls and spikes in content production, Final Smash has been a place of pure madness. But Adrian and I are working on creating a more consistent, and ever growing environment, hence many of the changes that have been going on.
The first major change in the site is the shift in its focus: as you can tell by our content tabs, Final Smash is no longer just a video game review site anymore. We’re working on becoming a central hub for geek culture. While gaming will still be a major focus of the site, we are pleased to be expanding our horizons. We are currently setting up proper sections for Anime, Trading Card Games, Manga, Movie, and Web Fiction content; so if things look a little messy at first, please bear with us. Also, we’re always looking for new contributors, so if you’re interested, feel free to contract Adrian or I.
Finally, I’d just like to thank our current contributors who put out content when they can, as well as the guests who have taken the time out of their busy lives to be a part of our podcasts. Adrian and I are truly grateful, and we will be working to make Final Smash the number one name in geek culture discussion and entertainment.
A - Top notch and stellar. This game accomplished everything that it set out to do and then some.
B - Great! A game worthy of a B means it is a requirement for any gamer to get. Only slight set backs seem to hit a game like this.
C - Games that get a C rating are good. They may not be great. They may not be fantastic. They are fun, interesting, and worthy of a play-through.
D - Average. Sometimes games play it too safe, sometimes they don't step out of their bubble, and sometimes they have too many problems. But they are playable and you may still find fun. Those games deserve a D.
F - Don't play this. The game failed in what it was trying to do. It's not fun and it's not compelling. The game may or may not be playable, regardless, if it has an F, it's probably safe to say you shouldn't play it.
